Left foot was wrapped in the metal strap and my calf was pinned to the cockpit. My rest of my body was down stream getting worked. The Burn is a great boat but I"ll be getting better bulkhead kayak or hopefully they change the design.

Holy shit! Happy you made it out. What a crazy situation.
Damn, glad you walked away. Makes me think I need to put a foam bulkhead in my Everest quickly.
I paddle a Burn as well and that is some scary stuff Im seeing there.
Glad you made it out alright.
Are burns known for this? I'm thinking of getting one.
Burns are great boats and not known for this at all. I want to know how everything got so mangled in the first place? How did the aluminum strapping get bent?
That is completely insane and terrifying. Glad you made out OK.
As the description states,my left foot some how got under the strap and as the water pulled me down stream as i was getting out, the strap bent with the force of water and my body getting wrenched. then my calf was then leverage on the cockpit. How that all truly happen i have know idea. I truly enjoy boating the Burn and I have recommend it to my friends but after this I'll be boating a boat with out the strap bulkhead.
When the incident first occurred was the foam that covers the plastic end of the bulkhead there and cut to fit the position of the bulkhead or was it lost in the ensuing rescue.
P.S. Glad you made it out ok, sounds like a scary situation.
