Hey John. What length are the oars you have on your Mini? Did you fab out the frame your self? Looks ok? Did you have any thoughts on how you would change anything or is it perfect as is? What do you brace your feet on?
I'm asking cause i'm about to fab out a frame soon 4 my Mini.

Use 8 foot oars and I built the frame at my welding shop. At 13.5 lbs it about as lite as ypu can get.We carry our boats into the Gunny Gorge so weight is critical. I have made 8 of these frames for frends and would not change anything. Mini's are so lite I put my feet in the groove where the water drains. I have a flip rope tied in there with a large knot to put my foot on. That's all you need. John

OK. cool! I called Hyside, they said they would recomend 8' also, NRS said 7'-7.5?? So that's why I asked. I'm thinking Hyside had the anwser?
I have fabed out 2 Cat frames, both are made out of ele. conduit. Put them together w/ my mig machine. I need to step it up to tig!
Untill then, I'll have a strong back!
    Thanks for the reply.

Buy full size oars not the small dia. ones. All of us use 8foot oars and have out fitted our mini's for long trips.

Ahhh, yeah always the full size. I'm placing my order tomorrow for the oars.
I just finished my Mini-Me frame. Can't wait to "style it" on some water!
I may do a 5 day on the Lower Canyons in Big Bend, TX. In late December ?
Just R2'ed it on the Santa Elena Canyon Big Bend, TX. a couple weeks ago and was wishing I had the frame ready for that trip.
I'll try to post up a pic.
