Can't really say it's a bad deal since it's free, but interesting for sure.

Looks like a pretty sweet deal to me - what he listed as the model number is actually the serial number so you could call maravia and verify the age, etc. but I think it's an '07. I'd check into the cracks he mentioned - inflate and spray windex everywhere you might be concerned. and make sure it holds air when fully inflated. Check the baffles by inflating each chamber independently.

That's about half price of new... and it sure doesn't look like it's been in the sun much.

You would need to look at it in person to really tell, but from the pictures those patches don't look like they were done properly. I could be wrong. I would also be worried about those dry cracks he mentioned. Probably means it has been left out in the sun for too long.

I my self wouldn't worry too much about the patches, they're easy to replace if you find they leak... I'd look into the cracks though, even though I imagine they're from folding the boat for long periods and are just in the urethane coating, not all the way through the PVC.

If I were looking I'd be excited about that boat, it's not an epic deal but far from bad if it is indeed in good condition...

Are you just looking for a paddle boat? I was on CO Craigslist yesterday and saw some good deals on oar rigs. One guy is selling two simi loaded cats a 16' and a 18' for $5000

Thanks for the input! I popped my boat about a month ago. It would be nice for all the rigging I have to transfer over. I mostly do an oar frame. My friend (hellova nice guy) is letting me borrow his boat for deso because he is moving to Denver and can't make it. He is going to look at it for me and I'll probably proceed from there. I feel confident in making the decision if it'll be right for me now based on my old boat and your input. Thanks again!
