Avon Scout 1992 12' 6" Self bailer - Mountain Buzz Gear Swap

$9500 for a boat from 1992... am I missing something about how cool this boat must be?

yeah just saw that sweet Avon. Someone has been watching too many Barret-Jackson car auctions, thinking that a "vintage" 1992 raft actually goes up in value. That or someone slipped a little crack into his one-y.

There is a guy on the NRS gear swap looking for one of those rigs... maybe he will find it to be a better deal.

In reference to another buzz thread, maybe there is $4000 worth of marked currency hidden INSIDE the raft.

I will never be able to look at my Avons the same again. Though the two I have were both purchased for less than $1800 altogether.

I saw that ad last night and immediately had the WTF response most of us are having.

It's gotta be a typo. No one would try to sell a 23 year old boat for twice what a new one would cost. Someone makes a dumb mistake and the knives come out pretty fast. I really can't believe folks are so intent on sitting at their keyboard and trashing some stranger on the internet there's no thought to give a guy the benefit of the doubt for an obvious mistake. If you're looking for the boat, shoot the guy a note and tell him it looks like a typo on the price. If he's serious, then make a big deal about how crazy the seller is.

two things:

1 - Not proof reading the PRICE on a for sale post is in-and-of-itself worth a sound thrashing.

2 - basing ridiculously priced items, intentional or not, is what this thread is about.

So lighten up Francis.
