Canada,

Sorry about the offense, I was referring to the condition when I called it crappy. The Jive is a classic surf boat. But, $500 is probably $300 too expensive.

ps. Nice quiver.

Price = $5900, plus $1500 for the trolling motor, so $7400 total.

holy schamolie. that is one expensive crappy cat.

I would suspect your could get a customized sotar, madcatr frame, sweet oars, dryboxes, coolers, trailer and all the trimmings new for significantly less.
I guess you got the list of goodies. Does it come with a diamond encrusted throwbag?

The guy customized the crap out of it, but it's still a North Fork Outdoors, and it was still only a $1500/boat new. There is often a huge divide between guys who buy boats for fishing and guys who buy boats for rafting. NFO boats are very popular with the fishing set, but the fishing set doesn't realize that for an extra grand they can get a (slightly used) real raft/cat that can also handle whitewater as well as fishing and will last. I made that mistake, thank god my buddies have real boats I can borrow!!!...

I agree that his price is too high, but it isn't entirely unreasonable. And your a bit drunk with the idea you can get the setup you described above for less.

14' Sotar Legand $2780 (stock)
Madcatr Frame $1000 (probably more like $1500 for the fishing setup)
4 Cataract Oars (plus oarlocks, sleeves and rights) $960
Drybox $360
Cooler (Igloo 120 ) $270
Trailer $2895 (Rapid Rig Trailer)
Sub-Total = $8265

Trimmings:
2 Rocket boxes, 2 water jugs $120
Straps $250
Firepan, lid, case $275
Stove (Partner 4 burner) $339
Tables (one roll, one skidguard) $305
Groover (Eco-safe) $190
Drybags (assorted) $200
Sub-Total = $1,679

Total = $9,944 (w/o trolling motor)

Note that i didn't include umbrellas, drop bags, kitchen drybox, river shelter, fire blanket, sand stakes, boomboxes, roll cage, a portable keg-er-ator, ice maker, gas powered blender or other essential items.

But who pays retail?

I can get a propane fired blender wholesale.

People always think their rig is worth 90% of retail just because they spent hours obsessing over it.

I'll stand by my assesment. Terrible deal.

Wow, gotta feel bad for who bought this sled. Brand new trailers with rails so you can put gear underneath and a 3500lb axle go for about $300 less. Like granny always said you can't polish a terd, or for the redneck who wants to fix it up like I made the made the mistake of doing, its like puttin lipstick on a pig.... squeal... squeal... city boy.
