Early '90's 'Burbs aren't bad. Gassers got better and better mileage every year. After '87, they were fuel-injected. Until '91 they were the old body style. After '96, they got multiport injection and MPG's and reliability both increased.
Do you have space for a 3rd vehicle? Keep daily driving the Subys and just keep the Burb for a weekend toy hauler.
If you're looking at a Suby upgrade, my wife LOVES her '06 Tribeca with the 3rd row, but we don't tow with it.

Not a bad option. IMHO, diesels don't make great daily drivers if you have a short drive to work. They deserve more time to fully warm up and drive around while warm, but are awesome weekend warrior/towrigs or for longer commutes.
