Umbrella stands for Cascade Designs Frame?

Trying to figure out umbrella stands for a grand trip. I have an older Cascade Designs frame. I cant find any pre-made stands or attachments and am wondering what other people have done. Post some pics if you can!

I use PVC pipe and small bunge cords along with a golf umbrella. I flip the umbrella upside down and stuff it in the tube when not in use.

Downriver Equipment makes a couple different version...

A buddy of mine bought the Deluxe one and hated it so I'd probably hit up one of the other two. He couldn't get the deluxe to bite on the umbrella and it was always slipping down or falling over. The other ones look like they might hold better. You could probably figure out a similar one to them too. I know Lowes sells quick rail style structural fittings.

That said, I have a bimini on my 16' and those are definitely a great way to go too but more expensive. They cover better and are much more stable in wind in my experience.

Might be a little more $ than you'd expect, but it works well.

I guess I should have mentioned that most of the frame is square aluminum tubing.

Call Marc and Judy at AAA. They just reopened and have been great friends for 12 years. I have one of their mounts which looks like the Modular above, but they will know how to hook it up.

They do a ton of fabrication on site, so they may be able to bend something into shpe for you.
After a miserable and sweltering late June trip on the San Juan, I will not go into the summer dessert without an umbrella and stand again.

Good luck,

Tom

Its probably actually easier to make a square version then a round since you can use flat plate with holes drilled and sandwhich the frame using bolts to tighten it down. Then just weld a round piece onto it for the umbrella to go through and drill and tap (or weld a nut on) a hole to tight the umbrella down. If you don't have welding stuff, any competent aluminum fabricator can do it in 20 minutes.
