Typical cost for plates on a 6'x8' utility trailer?

Bought a trailer from a guy with a clean title. Just wondering what the associated cost would be at the DMV to get a plate for it? It is just a 6x8, single axle utility trailer.

You can call the DMV for an exact price as trailers fall into a price category. Im guessing 50 bucks or less.

When I first registered my "self built" trailer in CO they asked me to fill in my own value, and then the registration fee would be based off that. They don't do any kind of appraising(at least not at the 5 Points office). Stupidly, I put the actual value of all that went into the making of it. In hind site, what I should've done was say it's worth next to nothing so that I'm not paying so much each year to get the new sticker. I'm not sure there's a way for the DMV to validate that your trailer is "new" or "used". No VIN #. Might be worth going into it saying you built it yourself and then you can value it as you like.

Thanks for the quick responses. Just trying to get a few things done regarding road worthiness, so I can head down to Salida, and get some float fishing in.

it must depend on county because mine are more like $45/year and I only told them the trailer was worth $400. I believe it's more the first time though, add in the cost of the plates and whatnot. I'm in Douglas co btw. Trailers went up a bunch a couple years ago when the did the fee restructure. And you can't go without registering or they nail you for not having it registered now even if you don't drive it for a couple years.

I don't mind paying for my cars, camper, etc., and keeping up our roads, whatever, but the trailer fees have gotten a bit excessive imho.
