Has anybody had a "home built" trailer inspection performed? Specifically in Colorado. Just curious what to expect, and if I'll leave with a temp tag and a state issued VIN.

You have to get a temp. plate from the DMV to take your trailer to the State Patrol for inspection. They will issue a VIN and then you can get plates.

looks pretty silly to me, not a good use of space for multiday rig loads with either 1 or more boats. If you are doing day trips, it might be ok. I am sure the price is well beyond reason.

To each their own. I don't see it that much different than the flat snowmobile trailers people use for their raft. That being said, I have way too much stuff that I bring to not have some storage capacity. It is shiny. Almost has a chariot look to it.
