Ok read the whole trailer porn thread, most look homebuilt except this one and a couple steel ones. Can someone message me a link if they know who sells this trailer, I am looking for an aluminum trailer to tow behind the Suby and don't have the time to modify or tackle another project.

Here's my contribution. It's a 10' PJ with a welded aluminum piggy back deck bolted to the 2x4 sockets on the side to hold up the cat boat. The Trex decking is carriage bolted to the aluminum piggy back platform.

Trying to figure out how to hold down the deck of a two place snowmobile tailer. I have been using self tapping screws but they tend to pop out and aren't reliable...

Search for an old thread using trailer deck screws as search words. I just today installed the 'self tappers' from vintage trailers.com and they seem to fit the bill. I pre-drilled with a 1/8" bit and they self tapped just as you'd expect and they also self-countersunk.

I took one to the local fastenal as well as true value and neither carry the way beefier screw I used. They were reasonably priced too.

Seemed to work like a charm but time will tell...

Lag bolts work great with a nice rounded head, but being a bolt you end up with washers and suggested lock nuts. Kinda pricy but the only way to do it right the first time!

I'm with you... a round headed lag bolt would be hard to drive.

I have a little utility trailer I thought I could convert to a raft trailer for my 14' Diablo now that it's been repurposed into a paddle raft. I was going to bolt some one inch tubing across the top with some 2"x6"'s as a deck. Instead, I bought a little mig welder and welded pockets onto the side with stand ups pinned inside and a deck on top. Click image for larger version

Both decks come off by pulling 4 pins. The decks are kind of high, because I had to clear the spare tire mounted on the side. This trailer will only be used for a paddle raft without a frame. I was going to grind the mount off and weld it somewhere else, but then I thought; WTF I'm a rafter, so like water I followed the path of least resistance and just cut the stand ups longer. I probably won't even worry about rollers since I can lift the boat on by myself. Click image for larger version

If I want to take both boats I'll piggyback the Diablo on top of the Typhoon. But, the rest of the time, I've got each boat rigged on its own trailer and ready to go. I just have to back up to the boat I want and head up the mountain.
