Stabond and Humidity

I have a question for the group regarding Stabond and high humidity. I know with Clifton's Hypalon adhesive you should not use it when the humidity over 55%.

I have a Urethane boat that I am going to glue in foot cups and D-rings with Stabond and I want to know if it is as sensitive to humidity as Clifton's?

I don't think it is as sensitive - Stabond seems to work better for on-river repairs in mixed conditions. I would still seek optimal conditions and low humidity for an off-river repair job though.

I've also found Stabond to work well when you put weight on the patch or footcup while it dries. A cinder block with a jug of water on it works great for this.

Hey Spoon,

Stabond will work fine in high humidity, you just need to slow the process down. Apply one coat to each surface and wait 45 minutes to an hour. Recoat and wait another 30 minutes. Either heat and stick or reactivate with MEK and stick.
