Billn is exactly right. Go with ACX. It's very affordable and will last for a very long time. I have switched to Spar Varnish and like the results. Marine grade would be the thing for building a boat but totally unnecessary for decking or floors in a raft.

I think ACX is fine, but I'm in the process of rebuilding all my decks with MDO. It's a paper coated exterior ply.

I intend on polying each then adding aluminum oxide on the last coat for non-skid. It should look a bit like skid guard, but be easier on the body parts. We'll see. If anyone's interested I'll post more pics as I get things varnished.

Finally getting things together. This is my home made version holding up well after a few seasons: 3/4" CDX plywood, knots and such filled with Bondo or Minwax Wood Filler, exterior polyurethane all over, and then Behr Deckover on the topside.
