SB raft lacing to tie stuff down??

To any and all who have paddled/rowed before me........
Is it OK to tie gear down to the lacing of my SB raft floor?

use the D rings, they are designed to take more stress than the floor lacing.

While not the strongest spot on the boat, plenty of things have been tied to floors over the years. depending on the boat, the webbing and grommets can be pretty stout. I tend to leave some short straps laced in to the rear of my air to tie stuff down where I should have added D-rings long ago.

Easier and more secure to just throw a cargo net over the load. An everything type bag works best in a raft stern and has a floor to keep stuff up off your floor.

First I'll say I have done and continue to do this very thing, However as you rig you gear in its going to push your floor lower into the river making it more likely to get hung up on rock and with the added pressure from the cargo it more likely to engage your PRV or possiblely put a hole in there. Many of the ol'timers I know suspend all the gear in their boats with floor boards or everything bags so the floor can move semi-independently of the tubes of the raft, so as not to damage it. This is something I try to emmulate but you know how it goes.
