We talked with the rep at Costco for most of the week, searched the web, and played with the rafts a fair amount before we bought one. They aren't the quality of Hypalon, however did feel pretty solid. We also really like the changes to the valve locations, the upgrade to Leafield valves, and having webbing for toe straps. We're putting an oar frame on ours, so still waiting on oars and some stuff before we take it out on the river. I think the upgrades over the last few years are making them a serviceable low end raft for whitewater... but ask me in a couple years if I still think that.
Since our kids are 2 and 4, we won't be running much class IV for a few years, so I think it'll be a serviceable boat for easier water with the family most of the time, with a few outings onto III and IV water when it's adult play time.
The pump and paddles it came with were junk... plan on replacing those if you order this. Oh.. and what's up with the 13' raft "package" coming with 6 paddles and the 14' raft package coming with 5?!?!? that didn't make any sense to me.
The rep at the show was from Redneck Outdoor Equipment from Bozeman..
Looks like about $300 off from the price on their web page. He said he had sold over 15 of them mid last week.
