I can't speak for your wife. You need to resolve the issue yourself.
When I say "idiots" i refer to the people who say they got just as good of boat at one third the cost. It might make them feel all happy inside but its not a true statement. Its kinda like someone buying a KIA and saying since it has three initials and four wheels that its the same thing as a BMW but you saved $40k
Now regarding RMR
I've never seen one but only heard positives (havent really made it out here) Not just from those who drank the coolaid and bought one, but rafters who saw one on the river and checked it out
Assuming they use the proper welding technique and quality fabric i would think the boat is well constructed. Time will tell as in any new product.
Not sure of the handling or design characteristics. They don't seem to market themselves as being a tremendous boat (just as good as _____) but as a reasonably priced alternative. Kind of like the space Vangard or Maxxon play in
If I were in your shoes under your circumstances I would probably consider one.
Would like them to be made in US. My first boat was a Momentum Osprey, a product of korea. Its held up relatively well (my buddy owns it now) but has some battle wounds and the start of delamination from the glue
