Santana brand raft?

I'm asking for a buddy who's trying to get on the river cheap.

He found a raft locally it appears to be from some old outfitter in Durango the brand label on the front of the raft says "Santana I". Does anyone have any information on this boat? It appears to have metal military valves any idea on the material and construction method of the seams?

Looks like an 80s Maravia Santana. Probably glued pvc.

Stay away

An outfitter I worked with gave me an old Santana. He got the better end of the deal. Blew it up and boat started coming apart at the seams almost immediately. Landfill is the best put-in for these boats

Now hold on here - did you get the model rated for high or low pressure? Sure it wasn't operator error?

Yup, operator error. Your supposed to inflate a raft, not blow it up.

Someone has to mag a gag raft - you know like those golf balls that explode into white powder? A raft that maybe holds air pressure for like a minute and then blows apart LOL
