Rope Wrap Source?

A buddy is wrapping his new Cataract Mini Mag's and is looking for a source for suitable types of rope in different colours than the factory black that everyone uses. Is there a specific type of rope you recommend for this that is to be used? Something that doesn't stretch obviously, doesn't change much with exposure to water I'd assume. Also, is it worth epoxying over top of the rope wrap? Doing the rap isn't the issue, it's sourcing it. It's 1/8" size?
