Renewing Waterproof coating on tent fly

I know this doesn't pertain to actual raft gear but it is pertinent to river trips. I want to recoat my tent fly instead of buying a new tent. Does anyone have experience or recommendations for a good waterproof treatment?

I have personally never used the stuff (I should probably wash my ski gear) but I have a couple friends who use this on their goretex gear and swear by it.
They also have a spray on version that I imagine would work better for your context.

Walmart sells a can of silicon spray. It has a blaze orange lid and will be in the camping section. I works great. $6 a can. I have sprayed almost everything you can imagine with the stuff, boots, tents, sun shades, backpack. pants, it works.

It is called Silicone Water Guard

I have used both of the products in the two previous posts and prefer the silicone cheap stuff. Better on seams IMO.
Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life on or off the river. is offline   Reply With Quote
