I was thinking about adding some walkway type boards to my frame. How do people attach these boards?

You can use a hole saw and cam straps- depends on your frame and what kind don't of deck boards you intend to use?

Straps work, so do hoseclamps (threaded through tubing as not to be sharp).

I used chainlink fence anchors for 1 1/2" tubing, slipped inside pieces of tubular webbing, and attached with carriage bolts through the top of the decking and acorn nuts and locking washers underneath.

Do you think zip ties would work?

Even the industrial strength and sized zip ties will get brittle over time and break. Useful only as an emergency fix.

For now a couple cam straps work perfectly, easy to remove if you need to get under the deck or change something... but once I get things more dialed I'd like to do something more pseudo permenant. I've been debating half conduit clamps. Very similar to the clamp above but only half of the U and thicker material. The reason is I'm clamping just to side rails and only have one side to bolt to. There are folks that use zip ties here on the Buzz. I've contemplated that and may go that route too but I haven't been exited about the routing options for the tie. I do believe Schutzie is basically correct, but when I worked in the ski industry we used them to hold seat backs on chairs and they lasted for years in that application. For me I'll definitely change something and have to cut them off long before they get too brittle, so longevity is not one of my concernes.

The third option I've thought of and that has been discussed abit on other threads is nutserts. I don't want to do that until I'm satisfied my set up won't change a lot more - I don't want to have little holes all over my frame... but I would like their ease of use and clean look.

I used the hose clamps inside clear rubber tubing.. It is really snug and isn't going anywhere..

I attached floor boards on my cataraft with the heavy duty zip ties for many years with no issues. Zip tied to the lower side rails of an NRS cat frame. I'd put them on at the start of the season each year. Never had one break, even after low water MF trips where they got banged into rocks. The heavy duty ones came in a long enough length that I crisscrossed them. I changed them out every season. They held my floors much more snuggly than a cam strap. I tried those first, and they wiggled way too much. One added benefit with the tightly secured floors was to eliminate the flex in the NRS lower side rails that you'll get with a webbing floor. I now have one small section of side board on my NRS raft frame that I strap my camera case to. It's attached with zip ties. The biggest issue with zip ties is length and sharp edges if you cut them. Plus I'm not sure I'd trust them to last for more than a season due to breakdown as mentioned. I always took them off every winter when I took the frame apart for storage. They are a quick and useful application, but not if you want a permanent attachment.
