Nice, I have the almost the same setup but in blue. What are the dimensions of your frame? I'm contemplating shortening my length to get some more storage in the rear.

Should a single outside rail frame have a taller set of oarlocks and a double rail frame - with the outer rail obviously further out - could it have a shorter set of oarlocks?

To give the same angle to the water from any given seat height/oar length?

Next question.

Does anyone ever set up their Captains Bay where one could hop to the other side to row/face 180.
Not just for stronger strokes but to face a hazard faster than trying to turn in turbulence?

The oarlocks centered as much as possible.
The distance from one seat to oarlocks the same as the other.

Yeah but technically a double rail is about 4-6" wider so you should step into a 6" longer oar so it probably isn't noticeable
