I've seen a few manufacturers going this route with their boats. It seems they are creating boats for paddle rafting, more length give you more comfortable seating and smaller tube give you more splash. We all know wetter is better.

Get it on the Rio and have some fun.
I cut the oars down to 8 ft. I didn't want to go any shorter based on what others had said in some prior posts. Shorter may have been better for the kids and for the 1/3 2/3 rule, but I figured for anything where it really matters, they won't be rowing until they are a bit bigger themselves. The counterweighted handles help for the kids since the ratio is a bit on the low end on the handle side of the oar tower. Leverage wise, we'll see when I get it on the water.

The oar towers are from AAA Inflatables and are 8" towers. They cut them down for me from their standard 10" stock towers.

Looks like a fun set up. I am putting one together too.
The captains box is FrontierPlay's large box. It's 12" deep x 24" wide. It fits perfectly between the thwart connections. About an inch to spare on each side. Rubs a bit when moving around where the tubes start to taper, but not bad.

Great on lakes and any river with enough water to get her down. She's going down the GC in May. Twin 20's, can be run independently or simultaneously.
