I noticed your tiller extension. Is that something you rigged yourself or did you buy it?

Sounds like you scored! Here's the extension I picked up. Kinda spendy but totally worth it.

This is my son and I starting in to the V wave and on the bottom wave in Lava Falls last October. My friend Brad got some great shots but the one of us on top of the wave is one of my all time favorites. Plus you don't see to many 16' cats set up to row double.

Thanks, that looks to be just the ticket.

Once my wife got into the idea of a propane outboard, she scoured the internet for a couple of months till she found this one.
I'll post some pics once I've got it mounted to the boat. It's not so easy on a cat that has a drop-everything-bag on the back. We'll have to use some kind of sub-frame. Of course my first drawing was way over complicated. Now I'm thinking of a simpler design attached with Lopros and some of the tubing I have left over from the NRS/frankenframe from years ago.

How did you mount the conduit to the frame?

This thread helped me to build my first raft over the last few months. Thanks to everyone who posted their rigs. Here's my Aire 156R. I put an NRS frame on it custom cut to maximize the length of the chafing strips. That gave me room for a small fifth bay behind the rowers seat drybox that fits 7 gal jugs and 5 gal buckets nicely. I cut, sanded and sealed the boards with many coats of spar urethane. They are attached only at each end using U bolts and flush connector nuts so nothing to snag on. That also leaves me flexible to move around all the other bays. I also installed a retractable swim ladder near the back which has been SO nice. And I got a lot of bimini envy floating past all the drift boaters on the green a couple weeks ago. I am loving this boat.

Very nice, add some legs to that front hatch deck if you haven't already. One easy solution is to add some t-nuts to accept roll-a-table legs like mine:

Some close ups of the construction underneath:
fairly cheap seat/table deck

looks like the adjustable leg set runs $40:

some photos of use over the last 8 years:
