15' FishcraftSuperCat

Just Joined! Thought i'd throw on a pic of my SuperCat. I added teak plywood decks down the sides along with a gear deck behind the captains seat. When anchored i use it more as a fishing deck than a gear deck. Just added another generation to our family so there is a River Sombrero in the mail to keep the kiddo out of the sun. Have a 4 day float coming up in June, will post another with the recent upgrades.

Hello Folks -

I figured I'd pop in and throw up a few pictures of my new ride

My original ride was a 12' CAT with fishing frame (catchercraft).

The new rig is a SUPER PUMA with a custom frame by Leo @ Montana Raft Frames.

Frame is powder coated a grey/black to hide any and all scratches. The powder coating also prevents the frame black rub-off that all other frame are guilty of. No more blemished boats!!!

I have a custom front and rear casting deck being made by Leo @ MRF as we speak. What really sets this frame apart from the rest is the "through-frame" anchor system. No more getting your flies hooked on annoying anchor rope!

I am in SHOCK at how much better I prefer a raft over a cat. The raft can be walked in and out of ANY pocket, hold in any water, and just overall nicer to row. I was constantly battling with the cat to keep a steady line. With the raft, I drop anchor in just about any water and shell hold! Having the water going UNDER a boat, rather than hit (2) toon from any direction makes anchoring a breeze.

Enjoy the pics, thanks! The orange looks A LOT sharper in day light!

Nice rig but what I love most is that you've forever immortalized your buddy by posting a pic of him peeing on the internet.

I mean, who of us isn't in at least one picture peeing that's been shared on the internet? At least he's facing away from the camera..

From the way you describe its handling, sounds like you were you overloading that 12'? My 14' cat handles great and rows very easily with 2. I wouldn't want to put the same load on a 12'

However.
Shouldn't we all be either peeing into the stream or a certain distance away?

Just got my rig all rigged!

16' Jag with a 4 bay DRE frame and an additional trailer frame for those extended journeys.

Now I just need a trip! And to figure out how to upload a photo of said rig, but take my word for it, she's pretty!
