The Lehr cost me $800. Got it used, 1.5 years old. The guy used it one summer. Put about 15 hours on it, got a bigger boat and a bigger engine so it sat in his garage last year. I took it straight to the Lier service center for tuneup and it runs like new.

That sounds pretty reasonable. I like the ideas of a propane engine, but when I saw the $1600 retail price it seemed kind a crazy. Nice rig BTW.

Thanks! She'll look a little different on the Middle Fork next month. Yeah when I saw the $1600 price tag there was no way I could justify that cost. But after last year's super dry river season, I wanted to be able to get out on the water and I figured this would be a great way to convert my rig to be usable on the lakes around Seattle

Yup. That looks like it's moving along at pretty good clip. What got us think about a motor is a GC trip we're invited on it Sept. We have discussed continuing on down to Pierce Ferry when everyone else takes out at Diamond Creek. We'd have the motor brought to DC by the shuttle company. The last 28-29 miles down to Pierce can be a real slough if the upstream wind are blowing. Then, that brings up other justifications for having one. Cataract and Deso come to mine.

That Lehr looks so sweet. I've been stalking them on line. That thing was moving you! How much propane do they use? How about laying them on their side? Any restrictions?

They can be laid on their tiller side with no problems. Not the best long term (months) choice but fine for days/weeks. Be great for pushing against one of those brutal canyon head winds. That video was at about 40% throttle. With a 20lb propane tank you can get about 20 hours of run time. Thing starts easy and runs like a champ. No exhaust smell at all and not too much noise. I'm really liking it so far.
