Raft Color for Fishing

Does color matter? If so, what color would be best?

Raft Color for Fishing

I was actually pondering that question. I am about to purchase a little (10' 6") Hyside Minimax & so badly wanted the NEO Black but I know I would be kicking myself in July & August. Most fishing boat interiors are white or grey. I live in drift boat central (Bozeman MT) & there are many mixes of two-tone color boats with the bottom 50% being white. I am an Outfitter & Guide & honestly, I really don't think it matters if you are using your gear (including boat) correctly. I have a dark green Maravia Streamtech & I feel that is is very stealthy. I am going to purchase my new raft in the next few months & I think I am going to get white or grey. For what it's worth.....

It really does not matter. Ive caught fish in rafts, cats, drift boats etc... of all colors. its more important to just not float through the holes youre tring to fish. I rock a powerful sound system on my fishing rig and even that has no effect on the fishing. Fish are just trying to get fat, bug color matters, boat color does not.

Bottom color grey like the sky on a cloudy day
If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong.

I agree with Swobo that what you are throwing and the presentation is what matters. My friends and I have blue, green, yellow rafts and drift boats. Some time 1 raft is doing better than others but has more to do with skill and amount of beer taken in than color but never really kept count.

That said, both of my rafts are hyside blue and can get really hot on a July float with the family. Could only imagine what that neo black would be like, ouch!

Would look more for a deal on a raft than the color.

Would like to fast forward 2-3 years to see how many of those black rafts start getting resold.

Focus on fishing, not on the boat

only thing that matters about color is that you don't get a color that will burn your hands when you're landing/releasing fish. bug selection and presentation matter far more than the color of your boat.

Fish like Boise State colors
Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it "guaranteed", I will. I got spare time.
