Raft anchor system? withoout spending 600

I just ordered a raft from Riverboat works, dudes are great. One area I had to chince out was the anchor. I couldnt spend 6 on the anchor system and get the other things i need. Was this a huge mistake? I see some retro anchor systems for like 400 bucks, but come on man, they look like 40 bucks in hardware + 2 pullys from rei. Any suggestions, Ideas, or if im lucky products. Its 1 1/2aluminum 1 7/8od, so that eliminates a couple options. I can do steel welding to fab something, but i bet one of you has already been through this. Help me out raft world

I started a thread a couple weeks ago to get Buzzard input on anchor systems. Most said that it's well worth getting. I'm not sure that it's something I can afford this season, after the new raft purchase. Maybe next season? I use an NRS frame, so adding the anchor system is easy. I can add stern rails and the anchor system for about $350. About once a week I look at the NRS website and start reaching for the credit card, then I stop myself and decide to wait.

If your handy with tools you can rig your own. I put one together for about $60 bucks. I visit to the local metal salvage yard produced a few pieces of aluminum angle and tubing. Some pulleys and a rope cleat were purchased at a marine supply (Marine West)
I assembled the bits with stainless steel bolts, no welding needed. Note: U bolts fit nicely around frames.

As you say, it's just some rope and a few pulleys...

I basically ripped off this design...
