You would not have listened, and everyone would like to see a study on different PVC fabric characteristics. Then all you would need is for the boat builders to reveal their proprietary manufacturing process. Trust me, you can take a PVC fabric from a particular boat builder and use any of the PVC glues and get different results, and that includes Clifton, Stabond, Vynlbond, etc. This is empirical, it requires research and experimentation.
Then you need to throw in different mass properties caused by the different expansion rates when it's exposed to heat, like that provided by solar energy, then take that heated PVC, throw it in a bucket of ice water, pull it out and hit it with a hammer. That is the problem you are trying to solve.
