Outlaw raft bailing ?

I ran the Piedra last spring with some guys. They were R4ing a 13 ft Outlaw raft. In the class 3-4 sections above and below First Box Falls their boat was filling up to the top of the tubes and taking forever to drain. This obviously made the boat extremely slow, to the point it was a bit dangerous.

It seemed like a serious design flaw. I would have thought NRS would have realized this before calling it a whitewater boat

The only other people I have talked to with these boats were fishermen not running rapids. They liked them.

I have not seen them since to find out if the problem happened again. Has anyone else seen this or was it a fluke?

Those boats have a strange floor, I remember thinking it would be easy to retrofit a bucket with a outlaw style floor. I'd also like to hear more about this design. It looks like they just took a bucket boat stuffed a drop stitch floor under the thwarts and on top of the floor and cut some holes.

Curious how well they track with the smooth bottom to it.
