I'm curious to know a little more about this subject. Might take my cat down to Aire and have them look at it. I even have a spare aircell that I picked up for my cat at Canyon whitewater in Idaho falls last year that also had an HR valve in it. (was brand new never used, scored for $5) - I think some new Aire staff might not be well informed on aire boats that are as old or older than they are themselves.
To clear up any confusion...Yes, AIRE used Halkey Roberts 690-BV Valves in our boats from 1989 to around 1995/1996, when we started changing out to the Leafield B7 valves. AIRE never used the Halkey Roberts 690-NSBV, "New Short", valves in new boats. We did make replacement AIREcells with the 690-NSBV valves and Outcast Sporting Gear had boats with the 690-NSBV valves. We still make replacement AIREcells for those trusty old boats, but they now come with Leafield valves.
Tributary Rafts and Kayaks have used / use the Summit II Valve, which is the same as the Halkey Roberts 690-NSBV valve.
