I've found that with modern flyfishing setups with tag lines (bounce rigs, Czech rigs, etc) it takes longer to rig than I would want to do every time. Sometimes I want a couple rods on the boat for a trip but may not fish depending on passengers etc. having them rigged makes this easier. Otherwise probably wouldn't bother to rig and bring rods.
Not to mention three hooks on tag lines will tangle if you look at them wrong. Individual rod sleeves solve that too. To me, the time and hassle saved is worth it. To a guide with clients waiting to fish, probably worth their weight in tips.
I can also see how someone who fishes simpler setups wouldn't see the benefit We're not all lucky enough to live where all you need is a dry fly rod to slay monster trout.
