Sorry - I'm still a BIG believer in threaded oar locks on those towers.
This was the same problem I had with my DRE towers. I had to use a very small split ring which didn't allow use of springs (pain in the ass). I now have switched to the new NRS towers with the nylon bushing. They except the spring kit and lynch pin just fine. After rowing Deso, I am much happier with this setup.
Wish I had seen this thread before I launched though, boy were my oarlocks squeaky.
