NRS Big Sky 146 thermal top options

Anyone have this cooler and can recommend their approach to topping it with additional insulation? Foam, pad etc?

I have that very cooler. I top mine with 1. a wet towel, 2. a paco pad, and 3. the shade of an umbrella when practical.

I also have a sheet of Refletix type insullation cut to fit inside the cooler on top of the coldest stuff. It really seems to help eliminate much air exchange when the cooler is (rarely) opened.

Of course none of that stuff is particular to any one cooler - I don't think there is any custom made-to-fit pad/insulation offered by NRS for their coolers.

jacks plastic can make some pretty sweet custom cooler covers. a buddy has all his dry boxes and coolers covered with custom white covers. pretty sweet and seems to really help with the coolers.
