One of the problems with my cam collection is that my wife has been steadily appropriating 3 footers to carry kids stuff. I've been trying to get her to hold a "cam party," much like tupperware parties of yore, but so far, to no avail. Seriously. She could go all herbalife with cams and rule a small empire.

Thanks again for the input. I'm enjoying the slippery slope.

Umbrellas and umbrella holders. We have some "sport" umbrellas from Costco. They are bomber and have tie down loops. I even added more. They are great for those annoying light winds.

We are switching to a bow line bag. Too much entrapment risk having coiled rope even if it is tucked under the chicken line.

Your life will be easier if you get an "everything bag" for your stern gear pile. A wood platform in the back is nice too.

A soft cooler you can lash onto the tubes.

An outlieb drybag because they are zippered and easy access for the day.

More straps.

Have fun with those kiddos!
I am a river, babe - I've got plenty of time, I don't know where I'm going, I'm just following the lines..... - "We are water" by Shaye

Depending on the rivers you choose to run, you may need 2 spare oars, per the river's requirements. If you can find a set of spares, I would run with the full set on multi-days. The perk being, if they don't match your main set, you can do a full switch out if an oar is broken.

My bosses swear by the magic sand mat and children, saying it keeps your tent sand free.

Perhaps the best plan of attack is find a friend who has all the stuff already, and then boom, budget saved for more beer and kids snacks!
