My New Raft Trailer in Southern Oregon

After looking and more looking to find a quality Raft trailer I called Cheryl at Sotar and she put me in touch with Richard who runs R&M Metal Fab out of his shop at his house in Rogue River. The guy was great to work with and really cares about the products going out his doors. The Trailer was similar to my 05 American Whitewater Products with the 2000 lb Torflex Axles, Bearing Buddies and the MDO Decking. The guy has the cleanest Weld shop I've ever seen with more than competitive prices for this area so if your in the market for a new Trailer I highly recommend him for any and all of your Custom Raft Trailer needs. I very seldom post but it was a good experience and I thought I'd share.

Sure, My 12x7 trailer shown with spare mounted underneath was $1865.00. His basic 7x12 trailer is $1650.00 with spare mounted underneath add $80.00 and with Hand winch and Mount with 20' Strap add another $135.00. Dan

In case you can't read the sticker on the Trailer it's R&M Metal Fab (541)326-6855 and his name is Richard Ward

Wonder where I could get just the hand winch mount like that? I picked up a hand winch from Northern Tool for $18, but I have no way of mounting it...

Wow, that's sweet at a great price. Very nice. Don't trust those bearing buddies though, lots of threads on bearing failure and annual repacking.

I've had really good luck with the Bearing buddies. I think that the trick is not to put in too much grease just enough to break the seal. Here's a link for Winch Stands although any local Welder could fabricate one for you for a comparable price. Winch Stand

Hay if you are in Colo and need a raft trailer see Will at Ark Welding in Salida Colo. He is really great to deal with and is an avid paddler.
I met him this summer when I broke the hanger on my tandem axel trailer. He was getting ready to close but saw I was in a bind and stayed and fixed the problem. He was great and very reasonable. phone 719-221-1473
