One Idea

Here are a couple of photos of a mount I cooked up for my 16' sotar that I use with a short shank Honda. Worked quite well. I really liked the adjustable mount, as we could lift when not in use, and then lower when we wanted it. It is mounted on back bar.

With the lace-in floors on the Riken rafts (in this case a Cheyenne) it is possible to un-lace the rear end of the floor and fold it forward (you can see the end of the floor in front of the transom, just beneath the pilot's hand). The little motor is mounted on a transom that is part of an extension attached to the main frame. The motor is a short-shaft 1.2 HP air-cooled motor from Sears. This rig is pushing three rafts down the Great Snake Lake.

Not true. 2 stroke use is still allowed on many NPS / BLM administered river sections. Canyonlands, San Juan, Deso to name a few.

Here's the cny regs
