Is it easier to sell parts, or a whole boat?

I realize this is a vague question, and it will vary, but I'm trying to get a general notion.

I don't want to sell my frame because it has a lot of thought, design, and expensive custom work done to it. So I've been trying to sell just my cataraft tubes. In general will that be harder than selling the whole boat?

I think it would make it a bit harder. If there are craigslist ads in your area for just frames, it might not be a big deal. But when I was looking to buy a cat, a complete setup was my choice, as frames were few and far between unless I wanted to order a new one.

I am always looking at used cats. I would have no problem buying the right tubes(used) then finding a frame elsewhere. It's all about how you price them.

i just sold a whole boat today and it was much easier dealing with one buyer than many.

Things you own end up owning you.

I buy rafts piece by piece and when I sell them I sell the package and usually get more than I spent.
