In case anyone is looking for cheap dry boxes

I ordered and just received 2 of these.
2 Two Pelican Hardigg Case Chest Dry Boxes MPL 30x13x16" | eBay

Pretty damn sturdy. I weigh 190 and can sit on them without flexing. I haven't submerged them but the butterfly clamps seem to seal it well has a rubber seal around the lid.

They look nice! Any idea what the "original use" was?

Not real sure. The boxes have troxler embedded on them. I googled it and it looks like they may have been used for shipping electronics.

They held nuclear densometers. They measure the density of soils, asphalt, backfill, etc. Seriously - Troxler makes densometers, we have a dozen or so, in the same boxes. The radiation level is minor when the probe is retracted, I doubt the boxes have any residual radiation.

He is awesome to work with. Shipped the ones I ordered pretty quick. I might need to order a few more for camping. Cheap wally world boxes are over $50.

We use these for big canyon trips in our 18' Hysides. Works great, cheap and are in use the other 10 months out of the year earning a living.

If shipping wasn't $75 I'd be all over this.
