IK as a bed

So I'm looking for any advice/experience with using your IK as a bed on an extended trip. I have done it once before but I was interested in others experiences. Pictures of a rain fly setup would be nice. Saving the tent and sleeping pad is awful intriguing. Thanks

My first ever rafting trip was Deso/Gray and there was no rain but I used an IK for my bed on that trip. just folded down the seatback and climbed in with my bag. It was a tandem and I was cradled inside. I had some of my best sleep in that IK. Another passenger on that trip flipped an IK upside down and slept on the bottom because she didn't like feeling "cradled" down inside. Now I sleep on a RollaCot and I clip a small fly to the cot. That way its always there and I can just reach down and pull it over me if the rain starts. I don't see why you couldn't do something similar with an IK.

We've used Duckies as beds for numerous family trips. 6 of us lined up side by side watching the stars and trying to find any known constellation in a sea of stars not usually seen at home due to city light.

Some of our best nights ever!

We set up a parawing low over the boats. Shelters 3 or 4 boats depending on how hard the wind is blowing

Pretty wide variety of boats in those pics, from top to bottom: early 2000s era double lynx with air floor, single 2000s era lynx with air floor and late 2000s era single Aire strike with aire floor, Sotar single IK with air floor, the last 3 pics are of 2000s era single Aire lynx with air floor

You mean the Idaho King? Let a little air out and flip it over. Better than a paco pad!
