Build your own

Way back in the day, a guy in Portland, OR used to make cats and drybags for us dirtbag boaters. He used PVC fabric and a paint stripper/heat gun and wooden roller to squish the seams. Simple overlap seams. He did it inside a garage with no respirator or anything. NOT recommended! Unless you are building basic tubes with little curvature, the patterning will be the tough part, unless you are good with CAD and know the properties of your build material. Have FUN!

There was a company in WV maybe called Wildwater (not sure). They ran some lopsided black rigs. I was told that the guides spent winters building their own boats from PVC truck tarps.

Here is what a seam should look like on a set of black and yellow urethane tubes we are doing. Some Black and purples we did a while back. Probably won't find many people come forward and show everyone how to make tubes and give away the years of info learned by trial and error for free. Way too expensive to do a set for fun unless you have lots of disposable cash and are highly motivated.

BOY! That is a nice seem. I especially love how clean that Canyon emblem looks. Good thing you got that thing dead center in the first picture that has nothing to do with the seem your talking about. Do you weld urethane material on the tubes to make that emblem or is it more of painted urethane the way maravia does it?

Reach out to D-9 at Stitches N Stuff. His partner in crime for many years, Greg, made his own cat boat from scratch and can give you lots of pointers. The boat Greg made was truly epic.
It even floated and held air.

I like those giant life vests. I'm not sure my arms are long enough to reach anything if I had one on but I would be ready for Lava at high water.
