I am not a fan of the term poverty boat, poverty gear so I don't care about having cost efficient things. You will never see me use it except in this paragraph. There are some people who can't or don't want to spend a bunch on a setup and do what they can to go enjoy the river and shouldn't have to feel like crap about it. Some of these new boats are a pretty good value for what you get.
I am not a blowhard RaaR buy everything USA you traitor scum. Price is definitely a factor as well as quality for most people. If you find something imported for equal quality for a lot less money I understand that reasoning. That is the main reason we changed the drybox pricing. The middle man was getting all the money, we were getting the least and the customer was paying huge. We made our product available at the same price as the imported with elevated quality, if people want to take advantage of that they can if not we may return to the old way. We will see how it goes. The customers that come through here that have the FP boxes, literally almost all of them are surprised the box is imported and were slighty displaced thinking they got a great deal from someone making his own boxes. I don't recall seeing country of origin in his advertising. Remember a very small percentage of boaters even use forums and buy on price, looks ,quality or word of mouth. 95 percent of everything we build is sold because someone has seen it on the river and could compare next to everything else on the beach.
We have some machinery from japan, not because it was cheaper either
