They have the Simms large duffel bag too. I'm not so sure how I feel about them undercutting the local dealers by 60 bucks after looking into it. But my girlfriend will attest that I looked at it with a glimmer in my eye and almost bought it. Also they had some sea to summit dry bags I picked up for 20 bucks because I'm sure I can stuff something in them on day trips in the spring to keep the snow off.

If only Simms had as much concern as you for their dealers.

Tempted to pick this up after work, just for the frame and oars.

CATARAFT with Frame / Oars

EDIT - The same guy is also selling a blob. The temptation grows.

I know this was awhile ago but I would be a bit surprised if Simms is "endorsing" sale at Costco. They have been typically very pro dealer. Chances are that Costco got ahold of the bags second hand (over stock or some other blown deal) and turned them over. I've seen Costco do that a lot in the past - I used to work at a bike shop in Portland and one year they were selling a bunch of fairly nice Trek full suspension bikes; for like half price. The local dealer (not us, we didn't deal Trek) threw a fit and Trek was able to get them pulled from the store... but not after a bunch were sold. Not ironically they weren't set up right so purchasers would bring them into the local shop to get them fixed (many expecting it for free, you know cause it said Trek on the sign outside). I think it's more likely a Costco shenanigan then a Simms thing.

Does the captain's chair come with a 3 point harness or only a lap belt?

Looks like a great deal for the frame & oars alone.

I like the description that states the the only US dealer can't afford to stock them. 2 things come to mind.... first - if they don't stock them are they a dealer? 2- Where did he come to that conclusion? Apparently he doesn't want to state that they are no longer made, possibly fearing that no one will by it?

It just struck my funny... aside from being completely false.
