I think you just need to see which you can get a deal on and decide which material you personally prefer. I'd also research where you would get either model repaired if needed.

One nice thing I like about aire boats with families is you never have a concern about the integrity of the baffles as there are none due to the independent airecells.

I just bought a used Aire for my first boat, it's been used two seasons and I have warranty for another eight years.

I saved $2000 over cost of new when factoring in the frame it came with and that's not counting savings on sales tax.

If I'm not in love with the boat I can get most of my money out of it and try again.
And I'm less of a freak with it as it's already stained and marked.

Mines a 156D I have three kids but we're most likely running larger rivers. It's easy to buy too small though.

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions guys! I decided to buy the NRS 130 E series and going to take my son and a few friends down the Nantahala tommorrow for it's maiden voyage!

Nice! Congratulations, you'll be stoked with it. My E140 has 17 years on in and its in perfect condition. NRS makes a bomber boat.
