I run pro-loks. they have an optional "detent" position that will pop out if the oar blade strikes something requiring it to spin. I haven't cracked a blade since i started using them.
I normally run the oars in the detents but can feather them as needed. used to run grants and tried the convertables but they tended to "pop out" at the worst possible time.
Why are there so many folks from Oregon intent on telling us Buzzards that we are not skilled boaters. Seriously it seems to happen quite a lot.
I'm really interested in ProLocks as well. I'm not sure I want them for the hard play boating but for my multi day gear boat for sure. I didn't realize that they are made to release in trouble as well. I think someone else mentioned that in and earlier reply as well.
