Sage council for sure and I will try to be mindful of that. I have definitely been getting similar feedback from advisers here at school.

One of the guys here on the buzz used to often fly to international rivers with a small cataraft frame set up. I believe the whole set (2 tubes, break down oars, Pelican box as a seat, and break down frame) fit as 3 checked bags within both weight and size limitations for the airlines.

Carbon fiber set up would be sweet for those fly-in/fly-out applications, commercial airlines or bush pilots.

Built a 80" carbon cat frame that weighed in at 13#. Thing was way to flexible.
Next one will use a carbon-glass tube sock over foam core. Use a polyester resin since the marine resin is soft as well.
