I know a couple people that I would potentially share a boat with. But they are exactly the people I would go on a big trip with so that doesn't 100% solve the problem.

If you share a boat and have a trip come up where you need more space, then rent or buy another boat and split the cost. In my case if I am not sharing a boat I am most likely alone. My wife/kids/grandkids only do the easy trips, so very few issues.

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life on or off the river. is offline   Reply With Quote

I rented for years and did 1 or 2 trips each year. Now I own 2 boats and have them set up on a trailer always ready. I went from 6-10 days on the river each summer when I was renting to close to 40 days having my own gear ready to go. Having everything ready so all I have to do is hook up the trailer makes day trips worth it to me where I couldnt justify the time, hastle, or expense when I was renting. I wish I would have bought my own gear 10 years ago.
