best cooler latches

Sorry if this has been covered. I did a search for cooler latch but didn't come up with anyting.

I have what I believe is an old icytek cooler (PM200?)

its great 160 true quarts. But the latch is breaking off, and is not ideal because it sticks out a bit for the rubber to grab the knob. I want to replace the latches. Any suggestions for something bomber? I'm cool with epoxying over the old holes and adding new ones.

Use the ones that Frontier Play uses on their dry boxes. That would be my suggestion.

Find what scares you and do it.

Search butterfly latches on ebay. You will find some really high quality stainless latches that are much better and cost less than what comes on most dry boxes. I built a dry box and was not happy at all with what showed up when I ordered what were called dry box replacement latches from a rafting vendor at $10 each. They are actual garbage compared to what I got on Ebay for half the price.

cam strap around whole cooler….bomber
Why does Pluto walk on all fours, drink from a dog bowl, and get treated like...a dog, while Goofy drives a car, wears clothing, and speaks in English?

I'm with David

Cooler latches are not necessary and can be a hazard. Alot of boats sit on the cooler which effectively keeps it super closed and then you strap it down on top of that just to make sure"). Latches are not necessary. Save your money")

I have a Canyon with 4 butterfly latches. They are a pain in the ass. Just my $.02

Butterfly latches are bomber...but suck for quick in/out access.

I have been using straps to hold my cooler shut for a few years which has worked fine. I have considered adding this style latch to the cooler 2.2" Long Compression Spring Metal Fastening Toggle Draw Latch: Window Locks: Industrial & Scientific

I have not pulled the trigger on it mostly because i only think about it when I am packing for a trip.
