Alaska should be on every ones bucket list for at least one time.
2kanzam have you ever had an need to use the spray?
I will assume since you worked as a Bear bag and tag man all the rivers you run a class V
Alaska is on my bucket list. I have not had to use bear spray. But I have been followed by (and roared/huffed at constantly) a momma bear for miles because I unwittingly split her and her cub...until the cub decided to make a break for it. I have come face to face with a 450lb dumpster diving black bear unafraid of humans (one I was coincidentally trying to trap-we targeted problem bears). I have held them up by their armpits as I smelled their breath and looked them in their blinking eye from inches away. I have trapped hundreds and released many many pissed off boars while having to stand ontop of the culvert trap banging and clanging to annoy them to the point of dashing into the woods.
I don't understand your need to minimize my statements (because you basically argued with me then agreed in your first reply to me). But I don't give a shit what you think or that you believe I'm embellishing.
The fact of the matter is people have an exaggerated fear of bears (not that they aren't dangerous) which leads them to shoot them for no reason beyond their own fear.
I'm a solid class III boater that likes a class IV here and there...and bear meat when butchered properly
^^Dem's da facts bub^^
