13 trips from 2000 to 2010 (when they banned dogs) and 2 since. I figure my kids should still get the Smith experience even if it's without part of our family, but I have little desire to leave my dogs at home, unless it's unsafe...
FWIW they banned dogs following a public comment period of about 6 mos where 76 people responded, 45 in favor of banning dogs, 41 against (if I recall the exact numbers correctly). That's quality science right there and think, we Montanans trust them to manage our fish and game populations...
I'm sure FWP will require some sort of bear prevention/protection, that's just their style. Interesting that bears in camp have drastically increased in the last 4 years. This year with the last 4 sites closed for several weeks at least. I wonder why, could dogs have been doing something beneficial to everyone? Nah... Just a coincidence
