So I was on-call at work this weekend and could not go up to the river. Since I had a wasted weekend, I thought I would work on my raft. This thread inspired me to do something better for my K-pump and sand stake. The K-pump has been dangling from the back of my frame by some stretched out bungees. My sand stake has just been floating in the bottom of my drop bag under the rower's seat. I worry it will poke a hole in something down there. So here's what I did:
I drilled 2 holes on my rower bench with a 1 1/8" hole saw and routered the edges. The K-pump rides behind and keeps the cushion from sliding back, something that happens all the time and annoys me. Attachment 10422
These are pics of my sand stake. I bought it from Cascade here in Boise.

It is supposed to double as an umbrella holder for the beach umbrella. I drilled 2 other holes in it. Attachment 10421
It can strap behind my rowers seat too.
Then I copied the PVC pipe scabbard idea. I started with this.
Drilled 2 holes in the bottom. Routered some strap slots at the top.
Mounted in the back of the raft by attaching a strap around the lacing of the self bailing floor to the holes in the bottom of the scabbard. I then strapped the top of the scabbard to the frame. Attachment 10425
After I run the strap through the top of the scabbard it won't fall out even in a flip.
It can attach in the cockpit in front of my yellow Pelican captains box too.
Best part is I can now use my umbrella on the boat.

Thanks for the fun DIY ideas Buzzards. I got to spend the weekend on the raft even though I couldn't go rafting.
Next project will be a hose for my K-pump like Read-n-run's and Cataraft girl's.
