11 foot solid Ash Oars

I have solid ash oars that I would like to refinish. Any suggestions as to what oils/finishes to use?

boat soup: 1 part Boiled Linseed oil, one part Turpentine, and a splash of Japan Drier...slop on, wipe excess before it dries. annual reapplication is easier thank sanding/scraping old flaky varnish. looks and smells great!

How to Refurbish Wooden Oars for Your Fishing Boat | MidCurrent

I refinished some Gull Oars using similar method to this, they turned out great. Gull is Ash, and they are bomber oars!
There is a lot of discussion on here using search some good info.

To add to your link--a couple of tips: thin the first coat of varnish about 20% with mineral spirits to allow penetration into the grain.

Use a marine grade type varnish which have superior uv and moisture protection.
